Project Application
Got a great idea for your catchment? Let’s make it happen!
The Mackenzie Basin Catchment Collective (MBCC) is inviting community members and catchment groups to submit ideas for local projects that align with our MPI Catchment Extension Services (CES) funding.
We’re looking for practical, collaborative projects that support on-the-ground environmental action and help us achieve better water quality, land management, and biodiversity outcomes across the Mackenzie Basin.
Projects should ideally:
-
Be community-led and involve collaboration between landowners, iwi, and/or local organisations
-
Deliver measurable environmental outcomes (e.g. water quality improvements, pest control, native planting, erosion control, etc.)
-
Take place within the Mackenzie Basin
-
Be able to be delivered within the next 6 months to 2 years
-
Align with MBCC’s vision for integrated catchment management
To submit a project idea, please provide a brief project plan including:
-
The aim of the project
-
Planned activities and timeline
-
Estimated cost
-
Any funding already secured or in-kind contributions
Submissions close Monday 18 August 2025.
If you’ve got an idea or just want to talk it through, get in touch! We’re here to support practical, community-driven solutions for our environment.
